EGALE | Gallery of Memories
The Gallery of Memories campaign aimed to spotlight an overlooked issue in Canadian healthcare: the need for more inclusive support for the 2SLGBTQI community with dementia. Historical discrimination and stigma make this community more vulnerable to chronic minority stress, increasing the risk of cognitive decline. Many queer individuals living with dementia experience the double injustice of receiving care that disregards their identity.
We sought to raise awareness of this issue through immersive, creative audio storytelling—bringing personal histories to life and fostering public empathy. By preserving these stories and advocating for more inclusive dementia care, the campaign was both a call to action and a step toward meaningful change.
